General Description

The Test Center Assistant works with instructors and students to carry out the accurate delivery and filing of academic, placement and proctored exams offered through Oklahoma City Community College. The Test Center Assistant is further responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of tests.

Current OCCC students are not eligible for this position due to the presence of academic exams in the Test Center.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

Follow a system to maintain order and strict adherence to rules in the Test Center.

Follow a system to maintain accuracy and security for all tests.

Serve as the primary provider for administration in the Test Center, if full-time employee is not present.

Follow a system to provide special testing services including special testing for disabled students and correspondence testing.

Administer assessment testing and provide assistance to students.

Develop and maintain a professional image for the Test Center by providing accurate assistance and positive customer service to instructors, students and other college employees.

Greet students, instructors and other college employees as they enter the Test Center.

Interact in a positive manner with the campus community by demonstrating positive communication and telephone skills.

Prepare the Test Center for daily operations by posted opening and closing times.

Assist Instructors to ensure the presence of the appropriate tests and accurate written instructions for each test.

Other duties as assigned or necessitated by situation.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.

Minimum Education/Experience

Completion of some college coursework.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to accurately enter the appropriate student tracking data into the system.

Ability to adhere to all requirements necessary to maintain security for all testing materials.

Ability to accurately file all testing materials as required.

Ability to maintain information in a confidential and secure manner.

Ability to multi-task while working under pressure of required accuracy and volume of people.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Test Center.

This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration, vendors, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and other devices to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to assist students or to grasp, move, or lift equipment or materials.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

This position requires the person to frequently perform essential functions in narrow aisles or passageways.

This position requires the person to occasionally function around prisoners or mental patients.

Monday through Wednesday: 8 am to 8:00 pm
Thursday: 10 am to 8:00 pm
Friday: 8 am to 5 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
