General Description

Assist the Audio Visual Services staff, on a part-time basis, in providing operational and technical support for all functions performed by AVS through the use of video and audio equipment.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

Videotape lectures, speeches, performances and other assigned programs.

Assist AVS staff with providing support for classrooms and events hosted on campus.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.

Minimum Education/Experience

Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester

OR

Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

General working knowledge of video and audio equipment and the video production process.

Camera operation

Good communication skills.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up tto grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the various OCCC campuses.

This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to occasionally ascend/descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, stairs, etc. to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, operate and/or inspect equipment or materials.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

This position requires the person to use upper and lower body to exert force up to 50 pounds to grasp, lift, push, or pull materials or equipment.

This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and/or other equipment and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and/or fingers.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned, to make general observations, and/or operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office or classroom setting.

This position requires the person to communicate above ambient noise levels and exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently be exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases.

This position requires the person to frequently perform essential functions in close quarters, crawl spaces, small,enclosed rooms, narrow aisles or passageways.

Video production experience

Audio support experience

Audio Visual setup and support for multiple input and output events
