General Description

The Director of International Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for the development, management, evaluation and leadership of Oklahoma City Community College’s recruitment strategies and international admissions policies. The Director will also be responsible for establishing partnerships to meet enrollment goals. Oversees the short and long term international recruitment initiatives for international recruitment activities to ensure effective partnerships between institutions and students. In addition, the director has over-all supervision and responsibility for international student services including rules and regulations of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

Over-all supervision and responsibility for international student services including rules and regulations of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

Advises international students on immigration, personal, academic and cultural issues, monitors health insurance, international student payment plans and other financial matters.

Responsible for the continued evaluation and development of the international student services as well as involvement in state and national international organizations.

Responsible for international recruitment and admissions of students. The Director also has budgetary responsibility for the area.

Research, interpret, and apply federal, state and institutional rules and policies to the specific situations of international students in F-1 non-immigrant status or other applicable VISA statuses.

Attend college fairs, high school events and business/community events as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Participate in professional development programs and serve as needed on institutional committees.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.

This position has been identified as having significant responsibility for student and campus activities. The individual holding this position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs are required to report crimes they become aware of to the Reporting Structure at Oklahoma City Community College. Annual CSA training is required for individuals holding this position.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master’s degree.

Minimum of four (4) years full-time responsible and related employment in international student services.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated organizational abilities with ability to give attention to detail

Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge and understanding of the needs of diverse populations

Technical expertise with computer applications and automated systems

Advanced skills in Word including, but not limited to ability to insert illustrations, equations, symbols, tables, watermark, track changes, add notes/mark-ups.

Advanced skills in Excel including, but not limited to the ability to insert mathematical formulas, header/footer, using pivot tables, removing duplicates.

Advanced skills in PowerPoint including, but not limited to use of template, paragraph and font functions, insert new slide, adjust the theme, insert and arrange images, illustrations and text fields, adjust slide transitions, spell check, print as slides or handout in color, grey-scale or black and white.

Advanced knowledge of Outlook including, but not limited to the ability to create and send meeting requests, use internal address book to locate employee email addresses, adjust reading view for mail and calendar, search for previously received emails by person and topic.

Basic general computer skills including, but not limited to locating and opening a software or internet based program without a desktop shortcut create a new folder, save item to specific location (shared folder, desktop, documents folder, etc.).

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, staff, faculty, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer, other office equipment, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in international college admissions and/or recruitment.

Work experience at a community college.
